By DJ Wig
Kicker Comp subwoofers are BY FAR the best sub for the price out there. Some years back, I had two 12" 8-ohm Kicker Comps in a large sealed box (2.0 cu. ft. per subwoofer) powered by a bridged Rockford Fosgate Punch 400s 2-channel amp in a 1996 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door. The two subwoofers were wired in parallel (4-ohms) to the amp. THE BASS WAS UNREAL!!!!!! They pounded out really low bass notes! I listen to bass CD's (Magic Mike, Bass Patrol, Techmaster P.E.B., Ultimate Bass Traxx, etc.) and Hip-Hop and had NO problems setting off car alarms with just 400 watts going to the pair of them!!!!!!! The trick to making Comps sound awesome is to put them in medium to large-sized boxes (sealed OR ported) and to NOT OVERPOWER THEM!!!!!!!!! 100 - 200 watts per subwoofer is ALL THATS NEEDED!!!!! If you have more power, then purchase the Kicker CompVR subwoofers because they can handle more power! If you follow this advice (and have the space) you will be VERY happy!!!! Plus a smaller wattage amplifier will be less of a drain on your car's electrical system (i had a normal battery and one non-digital 1 farad Lightning Audio capacitor).
Side note: Kicker Comp subwoofers DO NOT have dual voice coils (DVC) like the Amazon title says.....they are either single 8-ohm or single 4-ohm voice coil (SVC) subwoofers. If the last digit in the model number is a 4 (ie. 10C124), then it's a 4-ohm single voice coil subwoofer. If the last digit in the model number is an 8 (ie. 10C128), then it's an 8-ohm single voice coil subwoofer.

one of my friends purchased this speaker from a best buy and hooked it into my system and after hearing it i just had to have it. I ordered two and paired them with an absolute woofer box and it sounds amazing. you cant get better boom for your buck. Its crisp, clear, and my balls even vibrate when these things are blasting. Its practically orgasmic.

Trouble sometimes on hitting seriously deep bass, but fantastic for the price. FYI the wattage rating is 300 max and 150 rms for those of you who didn't know because they didn't say in the details. BUY IT
